Our lastest research: RABI reveals the public's awareness of the importance of British farmers and their mental health

This Spring, we conducted research on behalf of RABI, in order to further understand the general public's perception and assumptions about British farmers. The results of the project were clear in showing that the public feels that the farming community in Britain need more support, especially from the government and retailers. It was also noted that many also thought that the consumers themselves should be supporting British farmers. This can be done in a number of ways, including purchasing British produce.

On Wednesday 17th of April, Clare made the journey to the House of Lords, to the RABI's launch of the ‘Empowering the Worth of Wellbeing of Farming People' initiative. Key individuals in attendance were Mark Spencer (Minister of State for Food, Farming and Fisheries) and farming influencers Tom Pemberton and Rebecca Wilson. Clare noted that the event was both inspiring and eye-opening to everyone in attendance. Impactful research such as this is what we are all about and RABI's and Grounded Research's ethos' of supporting British farmers aligned seamlessly to make this project the success it has transpired to be.

RABI’s chief executive, Alicia Chivers stated: “I am heartened by the public’s wider recognition of farmers’ contributions to society and the collective need to protect our farming peoples’ mental health. It is reassuring to see the public agreeing that improving access to mental health services for farmers should be a collective effort.”

It is an absolute privilege to have completed this powerful research on behalf of RABI and we look forward to our prosperous partnership continuing to grow in the future.
