Challenge
Greenyard Fresh wanted to understand what attracts consumers to dried fruit and nut products in the growing healthy snacking category. They needed insight into what stands out on shelf, what drives trial and what helps products feel relevant within real-life snacking behaviour.
Approach
We designed a mock shop experience for 100 participants that allowed consumers to engage with products in a more realistic shopping context, rather than in isolation. This approach helped us explore what first caught shoppers’ attention, what influenced decision-making and which products or formats had the strongest appeal. The study combined behavioural observation and feedback to understand category entry points, choice drivers and barriers to engagement.
Outcome
The findings helped Greenyard Fresh sharpen its understanding of the category and of the cues that matter most to shoppers. The research supported stronger strategic thinking around product positioning, customer communication and future opportunities for growth within healthy snacking.
